Amit Gupta

Amit Gupta has been corporate communication and public affairs professional for nearly two decades with experience spanning media, consultancy, and multinational organizations. He started his career with Discovery Channel and went on to work for Coca-Cola India where he managed corporate citizenship initiatives and outreach to key stakeholders including government, non-profits, and pressure groups.

Amit was the branding and communications lead for Pearson Education India where among other initiatives he managed litigation and crisis comms, a landmark M&A deal and extended strategic counsel to the executive team on communication with media, state governments and regulatory bodies. As the regional communications lead for Oxford University Press, Amit significantly grew his media relations role to manage public affairs, corporate social responsibility, and brand reputation in the Asia region. Most recently, he was the Head of Public Policy for Coursera, India & Asia-Pacific.

Amit has also worked with leading Public Relations and advocacy agencies and consulted clients such as Samsung, KPMG, Cambridge International Examinations, Bio-Rad, International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group), Borges and Indian School of Business (ISB) among others on media visibility, crisis communication and brand outreach.

Amit has won awards and recognition throughout his work life and was invited to the Emerging Leaders Programme of the UK-India Prime Minister’s Summit, 2011 held in London. He is well-networked at media organizations, industry associations, government bodies, public institutions and has extensive experience of constructing compelling narratives that can drive publics and their perception.

He is an alumnus of the Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), University of Delhi.
